August 26th marks three years of holding Waddananggu ‘The talking’ ceremony continuously on Wangan and Jagalingou homelands within the Adani coal mining lease in Central Queensland.
To celebrate our three years we’re putting on three (‘Magarran’ representing the three stars in Orion’s belt) big events!
Waddananggu Magarran – On Country
Monday 26 – Wednesday 28 August
Waddananggu in Central Queensland
Join us on Wangan and Jagalingou Country for a three day celebration to celebrate Waddananggu’s third birthday. Take part in fireside yarns, swims, walks and time to relax and soak up Country.
Yidaki Magarran – Original Vibrations

Sunday 1st September, 12-2pm
King George Square, Brisbane/Magandjin
Join us for a “flash mob” style record attempt bringing hundreds of Yidaki/Didgeridoos together in King George Square in the heart of Magandjin/Brisbane.
Many Tribal nations across the continent are facing destruction of their water sources, used to sustain culture which is held in nature. We’ll come together and raise the vibrations of water, with a clear message: we need to protect the water for future generations.
This ceremony is open for anyone to come and participate in!
The Rap Up Magarran

Sunday 1st September, 3-8pm
Jagera Community Hall Musgrave Park, 121 Cordelia St, South Brisbane
After the record attempt (Yidaki Magarran) in King George Square, we’ll be marching to Musgrave Park for our third event which will be a BBQ, guest speakers, live bands and much more!
